Network Building

  • Look for relevant contacts: Chief Innovation Officer, VP Innovation, Innovation Manager.
  • Never connect without ending a message.
  • Respond right after the connection with some positive non-selling action.

Contribution

  • Contribute to your network with relevant content.
  • Share what is interesting. It may not be our own content but still interesting for your network.
  • Make references or introductions.

Participation

  • Participate in the content, discussions, and activities of your network.
  • A simple like is a recognition.
  • A comment goes a long way.
  • A share would be very well taken.
  • Always use the @name of the person.
  • If appropriate, use hashtags. Use #bluecallom only if it is related to our brand

Traction through amplification

Sharing is good, and getting others to share what you shared gets traction

Passive Sharing
When you post content, you share it with your network. Those who are online at the time you share it will see it. a short while later it vanishes in the volume of posts. You may get a like or three, sometimes a comment. If it is very cute more.

Active Sharing
When you post content and let your network know by messaging them, your success rate in terms of responses will grow immediately. And active sharing gives you the added attention from the message itself and people may respond to both.

Amplified Sharing
When you post content and let your network know AND ask them to share it as well, your success rate will increase exponentially. That was already known by the ancient leaders in Egypt, Rome, and all the following empires. Today we have all that potential for influence. We will use that for our business and here is how:

  1. Share some content, use the text wisely and add a URL after the first sentence so it is seen that there is a link and always add an image that supports the message. At the bottom of the message add up to 5 relevant hashtags: #Innovation #InnovationManagement #jobs #career #BlueCallom. Then you can add a few people to who this message is relevant or interesting with an @name list. Post it and capture the URL of the post.
  2. Prepare a short message to your contacts and business friends, to let them know about the post. Ask them to share it with relevant people.
  3. Now let your BleCallom team know what you shared, give them the URL and remind them to re-share and like it. This way you make the team an amplifier. But here, also the team may do the same with their friends and business contacts. That is when amplification gets really powerful.

Now you also see that your Network Building Process is extremely critical. No network – no amplification.
