Knowledge must be acquired not need to be learned
It is our conviction that knowledge needs to be acquired somehow, but not necessarily learned. This fine yet profound difference indicates that we need to have access to knowledge, but that access must not be to our brain.
When we have permanent access to knowledge, it becomes far more important to have learned how we leverage it, how we can abstract it, and how we can interpret it than actually knowing it.
Yes, it does make us dependent on the source of that knowledge. And we humans try to avoid dependence. But most of us are dependent on electricity, water pipes, the Internet, automobiles, and more. So it is a judgment call to use any of those “conveniences,” and the reward is progress.
We should never judge people for rejecting progress and there are countless groups worldwide who reject progress. And we also should also never judge people for advancing and participating or even drive progress.
As such, the BlueCallom AI Academy serves those who participate in or drive progress. We believe we are nature’s best bet to survive beyond the lifetime of our planet.
The Future of Education
KNOWLEDGE EXPLOSION
When knowledge is doubling every 12 hours, our education system will be under huge pressure. That was predicted in 1980 by various sources. We have reached that time now.
SPECIALIZATION
Since we realized centuries ago that we can’t learn everything, we began to specialize. That was one of the wisest decisions. But no longer even a consideration.
LIFELONG LEARNING
LLL doesn’t solve the problem. Adaptation does. We need to adapt to a completely new situation, where we can’t learn more – but maybe we can reimagine learning as a whole. One way is to extend our cognitive capabilities and capacity somehow. As we extended our physical powers or the lack of them, for instance, flying, faster running, deeper diving, lifting more weight, and much more, we now need to extend our cognitive powers. We do that already with AI.
UNDERSTANDING AI
The next most important learning is to understand the power of AI as a way to extend our cognitive capabilities and capacity. Those who ignore AI ignore the capability of advancing faster than ever before and therefore fall behind. This isn’t about understanding technology but understanding how to use it.
Nobody needs to know machine learning, training LLMs, prompting, coding, or any of the technical aspects, like you don’t need to know how to fly when flying from Zürich to Singapore.
PURPOSE OF THE BLUEACAD
The purpose of the BlueCallom AI Academy (BlueACAD) is to help business managers, executives, board members, shareholders, and career changers find their way through the enormous space of artificial intelligence.
